Cuando estuve en Vietnam no pude evitar ponerle el ojo a las mujeres, me sorprendía mucho verlas cargando todo tipo de mercancías; desde frutas, flores, niños, animales, muebles y todo lo que les puede ocurrir, manejando con destreza sus motos bien cargadas de mercancía, con una habilidad envidiable.
También puedes verlas trabajando la tierra, recolectando arroz, vendiendo y caminando horas, con sus cuerpos muy delgados y sin importar la edad.
Me puse a investigar un poco y descubrí que efectivamente las mujeres en Vietnam tienen una alta tasa de participación en la población económicamente activa respecto a otros países.
Sin embargo la mayoría de estas mujeres trabaja en el campo y/o en otros trabajos de menor rango con escasas oportunidades, una muy mala calidad laboral y salarios muy bajos, que requieren de bastante esfuerzo físico.
El porcentaje de mujeres escolarizadas esta muy por debajo respecto a los hombres y con una gran diferencia en la tasa de mujeres empleadas la cual supera en gran medida el porcentaje masculino.
A lo largo de la historia las mujeres vietnamitas han sido destacables heroínas y colaboradoras en la lucha por la liberación de su país, pero desgraciadamente siempre a la sombra de los hombres, aún en estos tiempos el matrimonio es una prioridad superior a los estudios, su ocupación principal sigue siendo la referente a las tareas del hogar y el cuidado de los hijos.
Esto explica mucho porque caminando por las calles de Vietnam puede ver muchas sesiones de fotos de parejas comprometidas y bodas
Las mujeres de Vietnam sorprenden por su fuerza, su gran trabajo físico y el gran peso que cargan en la economía de su país.
Si bien como mujeres ver este tipo de situaciones no se nos hace ajeno e incluso muy cercano a los que vivimos en muchos otros países, no deja de sorprender el largo camino por recorrer en temas de igualdad y libertad.
